Where to Submit an ITIN Application

The following are the most common ways to apply for an ITIN using Form W-7:

  • In person at IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC). Service at TACs is by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-844-545-5640. For list of locations and services provided, click https://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1.
  • Through an Acceptance Agent or Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA). Search for "Acceptance Agent Program" at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/acceptance-agent-program.
  • Through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
